"Change your body, change your life!"
Congratulations on your decision to change your life! Personal training can play a pivotal roll in your success. Personal trainers are not just for body builders and supermodels. Whether you want to lose 10 lbs. or a 100, the one on one support and guidance of a personal trainer will help you reach your goal.
First let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a 51 year old woman. I've been happily married and living in Temple for 25 years. I've always understood the importance of healthy eating and exercising but in my 40's I let myself slip a bit. Luckily I regained control of my life and made positive changes. I sought out the expertise of a personal trainer, started eating right and exercising hard. It saved my life. I competed in my first body building competition at 50 years old. I have more energy, feel younger, I'm strong and self-confident. The changes in my life were so dramatic and important that I wanted to help others experience the same success. I decided to make a career change and become a personal trainer. I'm certified by the International Fitness Association and I have been training and consulting others since 2007. I pride myself in my affordable prices and my proven strategies.
As your personal trainer, I will instruct and support you by focusing on the following:
EXERCISE: Exercise serves so many purposes in our life. It burns calories, tones our muscles, strengthens our heart, lungs and muscles. I believe each person's exercise routine should be designed to meet there specific needs. An individual's strengths and weaknesses should both be taken into consideration. My exercise routines consist of cardio, strength training, yoga, and Pilates. I believe in keeping you workouts challenging and fun. Doing the same exercises week after week will become monotonous and will limit your success.
EATING: I am a firm believer that diets do not work. They are a temporary solution to a much larger problem. Your way of eating must be something you can live with for life. I believe in a balanced diet consisting of whole foods and lots of variety. Variety in the spice of life and without options you will grow bored with food and eventually stray from the healthy eating that helped you lose weight. I also believe that one way of eating is not best of everyone. Your diet should be customized to your needs and preferences.
HABITS: Bad and good habits can be broken in as little as 21 days. Once the new behavior is repeated over and over again it will come naturally. We spend our days on autopilot, making choices based on our habits. Changing our habits is as simple as temporarily turning off the autopilot and changing directions. Soon our new healthy habits will become routine.
SUPPORT: Studies consistently show the importance of support for weight loss. Your co-workers, family and friends will notice the changes in your body and compliment you but support on your bad days or weeks is equally important. I will hold you accountable, help you stay focused, provide solutions to stalls and plateaus, and celebrate you success. I will be there whether you need a pat on the back or a push in the right direction.
GET HEALTHY: Eating healthy is more than restricting calories. Food is fuel for our bodies and should be chosen carefully. By giving your body the correct fuel and exercise you will be physically and mentally stronger, you will have more energy, you will live longer, you will get sick less often and you will be able to fully enjoy your life.
Before I make a commitment to you, you must make a commitment to yourself. I'm ready to start your journey when you are. When you are ready to change your life I will be waiting with a smile on my face and a set of free weights in my hands.
See you soon,
Sue Hopkins
